Visible & Free | Bodily Autonomy

As part of the 365 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence campaign, I created a series of illustrations for the Sexual & Reproductive Justice Hub at the CUNY School of Public Health in New York.
This work explores bodily autonomy and self-image. It reflects on how we are often taught to see our bodies through the eyes of others — through beauty standards, cultural norms, and quiet expectations that shape how we should look, move, or exist.
For me, this campaign is about reclaiming that perspective — about learning to see ourselves not as something to be corrected or hidden, but as something to be embraced, in all our differences, marks, textures, and shapes. It’s about softness, pride, and the freedom that comes with recognizing that our bodies belong only to us — and that self-acceptance can be a powerful act of resistance.​​​​​​​
