Unravelling Consumer Culture is an editorial design project that explores how consumerism influences identity, mental health, labor, and the environment. Structured across four thematic chapters, the publication examines the psychological impact of advertising, the realities of global labor exploitation, the environmental consequences of overconsumption, and the ethical choices embedded in everyday purchasing decisions.
Rather than presenting information as a conventional report, the project transforms complex research into an engaging visual narrative. Editorial design, data-driven storytelling, and AI-generated imagery—carefully curated and refined through human design decisions—work together to communicate abstract social issues through accessible, metaphor-rich visual language.
By combining research, technology, and visual communication, Unravelling Consumer Culture encourages readers to question the systems behind the products they consume and reflect on their own role within them. The project demonstrates how contemporary editorial design can make complex information accessible, foster critical thinking, and communicate global issues with clarity and emotional impact.
